'Home' - Animated Web Series | Hurly Burley Winter Fair + More

There has been quite a bit of activity here at VP for the last month or so which includes this timely announcement: Sebastian Chan, Joseph Kisch and Scott Cadzow have not only teamed up to create a new animated web series but they have also been selected as finalists for Filmaka.com's monthly web series competition. The call out was for a 3-5 min per episode procedural series and their pitch was selected to receive $5,000 in order to create the pilot and write the remaining 9 episodes. They are now in the running (Top 3) for the final stage where they may receive additional funding to complete the series.

Their series Home, set in 1947, is a comic drama noir which follows an alien paranormal investigator as he saves various extraterrestrials from being captured by the authorities while also trying to find a way back to his home planet. We will hopefully be able to share the first episode very soon!

In other news, two of our short films have been selected to screen at the annual Hurly Burley Winter Fair on June 2nd in Garema Place. Brothers In Alms and A Friend In The Night will be screening from 1:10pm in 'The Kiss Club' located in King O'Malley's along with a collection of other great local films. Sebastian Chan will be present to introduce his work.

Speaking of A Friend In The Night, the trailer for the 2018 West End Film Festival has dropped and our little film features towards the end. Check it out:

Finally, on a side note, a feature documentary Sebastian Chan worked on as a camera operator is having its premiere at the ANU Film Group on Friday June 8. Congratulations to Andrew Moore and Fiona Scott!
