Croak | Talent Camp | The Sacred
It's been ages since the last update and some huge things have happened/are happening! Here is the latest:
Last week, Sebastian spent 4.5 days in Gladstone, QLD to help hash out the 'Croak' story in the hope of improving an already decent script. The lab was set up as a writers room so the five emerging filmmakers could work directly with Nash and the Van Vuuren Bros to develop the concept.
The filmmakers were also privy to high level development meetings with potential heads of department such as cinematography, casting, VFX, SFX, makeup and production design. A highlight of the week was getting to see first-hand how the locals deal with the pest that is the cane toad on a night out 'toad busting'.

In other exciting news, Sebastian Chan has also been selected as one of two ACT participants for the AFTRS 2019 NSW/ACT Talent Camp which is due to take place next week in Sydney.
Talent Camp is a skills development program for creatives from diverse backgrounds, designed to provide opportunities for emerging storytellers to create new content and be employment ready for the screen sector.
Sebastian will be taking his project 'Open Heart Therapy' to the camp in the hope of adding to its development. You can read more about this and the other NSW/ACT participants here.
Finally, we're very proud to report that our short film 'The Sacred' has wrapped. After a successful three day shoot, the short film written and directed by Meg Donnelly (co-directed by Marisa Martin), the project has now entered into post-production.
Special shout out to our amazing DOP, Susan Stitt ACS, and our incredible cast Emma Horn and Andrew Attieh who came all the way from Sydney for the shoot. Of course a huge thank you to all our lovely local cast and crew too!
You can keep up to date with the progress of the film on the official Facebook page.
