Tim The Yowie Man: The Tragedy of Henry Dunkley

Tim The Yowie Man: The Tragedy of Henry Dunkley has been completed and released online to view for all. A co-production between Vorfreude Pictures and Austography Film Image Inc. that took place over 8 months of development/production and post production has finally come to fruition in a compelling 19 minute episode on the life and death of the 19th century settler Henry Dunkley.

The episode is the second in the TYM Series 2 and was premiered in Gunning, NSW for the Gunning & District Historical Society to an appreciative audience of locals and history enthusiasts. The tragic story of Henry Dunkley murdered by his wife Lucretia Dunkley and his servant Martin Beech in colonial Australia in 1842 is told in three parts; the history, the murder and the ghost hunt.

Sebastian Chan at the Gunning Premiere.

This is both the longest factual film made to date by Vorfreude Pictures and Sebastian Chan who wrote, directed and co-produced the episode and the first time actors have been used in a re-enactment. This film also marks the first time Henry Dunkley's story has been adapted for the screen as well as the use of Graham Lewis's ghost hunting X-box technology featured in a film. You can watch the full episode below:

This episode in particular has received a lot of interest by the local press and the story has since developed to include a petition by the locals in Gunning to retrieve the killers' skulls from the Australian Museum in Sydney.

The Tragedy of Henry Dunkley was a huge team effort by cast, crew and fellow supporters but a special shout out must go to producer Justin Bush who not only produced but also edited this episode; a mammoth task! Justin is taking a break from producing the series this year but Tim The Yowie Man will return soon with brand new episodes produced by Vorfreude Pictures, so keep an eye out!
